Q&A

At Yamaha Music School, children learn not only playing techniques but also holistic musical skills. Unlike general music schools that focus mainly on reading and playing music, our curriculum—encompassing “listen, sing, play, read, and create”—effectively cultivates fundamental musical skills that last a lifetime. That is why Yamaha graduates can continue to enjoy music throughout their lives, even if they stop playing an instrument.

Yes, in a gentle way. It's never too late. Children aged 6-8 are naturally curious and eager to "Play!" Compared to younger children, they can move their fingers more precisely and grasp concepts more quickly.

By nurturing their ability to listen carefully, perform, and read musical notation, they develop the foundational skills to truly enjoy music. Our teaching follows the principle of developmentally appropriate practice, providing instruction aligned with the physical and cognitive growth of children in this age group.

Homework focuses on reviewing and reinforcing lesson content to ensure steady progress. It primarily involves practicing repertoire pieces, supplemented by engaging educational videos and quiz-format workbook activities that support learning, making practice enjoyable and motivating.
