A new firmware update for Yamaha’s CS-800 Video Sound Bar and CS-500 Video Collaboration System brings several improvements to enhance video collaboration and conferencing.
Since their launch in 2022, the CS-800 and CS-500 have enriched the meeting room market with their advanced features for both video and audio, as well as acquiring certification by key partners such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Barco ClickShare.*
Available from November, the latest Version 1.2 firmware enhances the image quality of the CS-800 and CS-500 cameras. This means more subtle differences in facial expressions can be captured, enabling people’s emotions to be more accurately gauged from the image and allowing for more lively discussions.
Functions for batch firmware update over a network (via Wi-Fi) and batch import of configuration files have also been added, making it possible to configure multiple CS series units with the same settings. Saving time and making maintenance easier, these features have been added in response to requests from customers who use multiple CS series products and wish to centralize management and reduce costs.
Improvements have also been made to Face Focus Beamforming and Self-Silence, which enables smoother communication from open spaces, Smart Framing, which automatically zooms in on the speaker's facial expressions, making customer environments even more friendly and personal for video collaboration.
“The advanced features of the CS series significantly enhance the experience of video collaboration,” says Thomas Hemery, Yamaha General Manager of Global Marketing and Sales Department, Professional Solutions Division. “The improvements that we have made in the Version 1.2 firmware enhance it even further. We are always listening to our customers and the CS series will continue to evolve with more improvements to maximize the user experience.”
Version 1.2 firmware for the CS-800 and CS-500 will be released in November as a free download.
* Barco Clickshare certification is for the CS-800 only.
