Asia-Pacific Electone Festival Held in Thailand
APEF
Siam Music Yamaha Co., Ltd. (SMY) held the Asia-Pacific Electone Festival (APEF) 2013 at the Aksra Theatre in Bangkok on September 7.
APEF is an event at which selected Yamaha Music School (YMS) students from each country and region showcase the benefits of daily practice. The winners of the junior and open-age categories will move on to the Junior Electone Festival and Yamaha Electone Concours, respectively.
President Takuya Nakata from Yamaha Corporation and President Mitsuru Umemura from the Yamaha Music Foundation attended as guests.
Selected from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Mexico, Indonesia, and Thailand, a total of 16 contestants—8 contestants in each of the junior and open-age categories—performed their own compositions or arrangements, which were rich in originality, and captivated the audience of 600 people.
The junior category was won by Leung Sheung Man, Selina from Hong Kong, and the open-age category was won by Sirinut Siritikul from Thailand.
Among the most popular Electone™ players, guest performers Kenan Loui Widjaja from Indonesia and Masahide Nakano brought the event to a close.
