[Level 1] What is Voice Guide?

・Button names on the panel
・Display contents, such as Voice, Rhythm, and Registration Menu names
・Information on display transitions
・Information on functions being executed and parameter values

You can also simply hear the item name that you’ve touched without having to execute the corresponding operation, with the Preview Reading function.

・If any of the Registration Memory [1] to [16] buttons are pressed by themselves (and not in conjunction with another button), no announcement will be played.
・Not all displays are supported by the Voice Guide function. For details, refer to the “Other Notes on Usage” at the end of this manual.
・If the message on the display is not supported by the Voice Function, Voice Guide will simply announce “Dialog.”

[Level 2] Saving a downloaded Voice Guide (audio) file to a USB flash drive
(1)Extract the downloaded Voice Guide file on your PC.
The Voice Guide file can be downloaded from the URL below.
https://data.yamaha.com/keyboards/electone/els02_en_voice_guide_wav.zip

(2) Save the extracted files into the root directory (highest level folder) of the USB flash drive. Make sure that there is a “VcgEls02” folder in the root directory and an “EN” folder in the “VcgEls02” folder.

[NOTE]
・Make sure that the USB flash drive has enough memory (at least 2 GB). Make sure to check the latest information on file size from the download site.
Before purchasing a USB flash drive for use with this instrument, please visit the following URL.
http://download.yamaha.com/
・Before using a USB flash drive, be sure to read “Precautions when using the [USB TO DEVICE] terminal” and “Using USB flash drives” in the Owner’s Manual. [END of NOTE]

[Level 1] Start the Voice Guide
Connect the USB flash drive (see above) containing the Voice Guide files to be saved into the instrument’s [USB TO DEVICE] terminal.* If you remove the USB flash drive, the Voice Guide function is inactive.

*The ELS-02 series features a USB Dock built into the left front of the keyboard unit, containing two [USB TO　DEVICE] terminals. Since the USB Dock opens slightly (more than 10mm) when it is pushed gently, pull it open all the way and connect the USB flash drive to one of the [USB TO DEVICE] terminals. After connecting, close the USB Dock.
*The [USB TO DEVICE] terminal of the ELC02 is located at the right of the lower keyboard.
[NOTE]
・The Voice Guide function cannot be used while any Audio functions are being used. Before starting Voice Guide, stop Audio recording/playback and close the AUDIO display.
・While the Voice Guide is active, Audio functions cannot be used. To call up the AUDIO display, remove the USB flash drive containing the Voice Guide files from the instrument’s [USB TO DEVICE] terminal.
・The Voice Guide files downloaded from the English website are for the Voice Guide in English. Make sure to set the language of the instrument to English to use the Voice Guide in English. For details, refer to the “Other Notes on Usage” at the end of this manual.
・Before using a USB flash drive, be sure to read “Precautions when using the [USB TO DEVICE] terminal” and “Using USB flash drives” in the Owner’s Manual. [END of NOTE]

[Level 2] Indication of position on the display
On the frame of the LCD display, 7 dots are arranged vertically (in a column) and 8 dots are arranged horizontally (in a row). In this document, the position on the display is indicated by squares that correspond to (and are centered at) the intersection of the lines from these vertical 7 dots and horizontal 8 dots.

Letters "A" to "G" indicate the dot position on the screen frame (vertical, as seen from the top).
Numbers "1" to "8" indicate the dot position on the screen frame (horizontal, as seen from the left).

For example, <B3> indicates the intersection of the vertical 2nd dot from the top and horizontal 3rd dot from the left.

If the designated position is not exactly on the intersections of these dots, “upper/lower/left/right” is added to the description.

For example, <B3 upper right> indicates the upper right of the square where the vertical 2nd dot and the horizontal 3rd dot from the left intersect.

[NOTE]
・Horizontal lines of squares are located 10 mm, 23 mm, 35 mm, 48 mm, 61 mm and 74 mm from the top of the display. Vertical lines of squares are located 19 mm, 37 mm, 56 mm, 75 mm, 93 mm, 112 mm and 131 mm from the left.
